The Parenthood Space
A community for parents and parents-to-be
Connect. Share. Support.
Parenthood looks different for everyone.
Whether you are expecting a baby, raising children, a grandparent with an important caring role, a foster carer, an adoptive parent, or part of a family in any other way — The Parenthood Space is a place for you.
A welcoming local community where people can connect, share experiences and feel supported through all the different seasons of parenthood.
This isn’t a baby group — the emphasis is on supporting you as you navigate life before and after birth. Babies are warmly welcome, and while we care for them too, the focus of these sessions is your experience as a parent.
What is the Parenthood space?
The Parenthood Space is a relaxed and welcoming environment where parents and those with a parenting role can come together.
It is a place to meet others, have honest conversations and explore the many different experiences that come with being a parent.
Each session offers opportunities to:
Connect with other parents and carers
Share experiences and stories
Explore thought-provoking themes around parenthood
Access informal guidance and signposting to relevant support
Take moments for personal reflection, calm and breathing space
Build a sense of support and connection within the local community
There is no expectation to have all the answers, and no such thing as a “perfect” parent.
This is a space where you can come as you are, connect with others and feel part of a supportive community.

No. The Parenthood Space is not a mums-only group.
We believe all parents and carers bring valuable experiences and perspectives, and we want to create a space where everyone feels welcome — whatever their role in a child’s life.
-
Not at all.
Many people come along not knowing anyone. The Parenthood Space is designed to help people meet others, build connections and find their community.

No.
You can join in as much or as little as feels comfortable. The aim is to create a welcoming space where people can listen, share and connect in a way that feels right for them.

The Parenthood Space is a community space focused on connection, wellbeing and shared experiences.
It is not therapy or a replacement for professional mental health support, but it provides an opportunity to connect with others, reduce isolation and access signposting to further support where appropriate.

No, there is no need to book — you can simply turn up and join us.
We know that coming along to something new can feel a little daunting, especially if you don’t know anyone yet, so if you would like to have a chat before your first visit, please feel free to send a message through social media or get in touch via the website.
We’ll be happy to answer any questions and help you feel comfortable before you come along.
-
Yes and no,
Babies who cannot crawl yet are welcome at The Parenthood Space.
As this is a new group, we are initially focusing on creating a calm and welcoming environment that works well for everyone attending. At the moment, the space is best suited to babies who are not yet mobile.
As the group grows and we understand what works best for the community, we hope to be able to welcome older children too, as long as we can continue to create a space where everyone feels comfortable and supported.
If having a mobile child with you would otherwise be a barrier to attending, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Send us a message through social media or via the website, and we can have a chat about how we can make it work.
Why The Parenthood Space was created
The Parenthood Space was created from a personal experience of becoming a parent and discovering just how important connection and community can be.
After having my own children, I experienced first-hand how powerful it is to have people around you who understand — people you can ask questions, share the difficult moments with and celebrate the good ones alongside.
I wanted to create a space where parents and parents-to-be can find that same sense of connection and begin building their own village.

A community supported by CPSL Mind
The Parenthood Space is a community initiative funded by CPSL Mind.
The space has been created to support connection, wellbeing and community for parents, parents-to-be and anyone with a parenting role.
By bringing people together in a welcoming environment, we hope to reduce isolation, encourage meaningful connections and create opportunities for people to share experiences and access support when they need it.
